Description
Team up with the rest of your Station to take on the RAF Around the World in 80 days challenge, in support of the RAF Central Fund. This virtual challenge gives Stations the opportunity to compete with each other to complete 40,000km by running, walking, cycling, rowing, swimming, crawling, or any other (self powered) way you see fit, over a period of 80 days, starting on 27th June 2021 and finishing on 15th September 2021 (Battle of Britain Day).
When you sign up to the event, an account will be created for you. Evidence of your activity (usually a screenshot from a fitness app etc) can then be uploaded via your account – each completed effort will move your team’s marker further along the route map. The first team to get back to London (virtually!) will win… We estimate teams of 100 will be optimal, so make sure you encourage all your Station to take part!
Your entry fee will go to the RAF Central Fund to support the charitable work they do safeguarding the health and wellbeing of serving RAF personnel. So sign up, get moving and earn your medal!
The event route follows Phileas Fogg’s “original” around the World in 80 Days route (as closely as we could work out!), so you’ll be virtually following in some famous footsteps…
